With two big days of event preparation and appearances now in the books, PremiAir Racing is ready and rearing to go for tomorrow’s official beginning of this year’s Bathurst 1000.
While the first on-track laps might not be scheduled until Thursday, the city of Bathurst is already in full swing, with today’s annual transporter parade and ‘Track to Town’ run seeing crowds line the streets cheering on the stars of Supercars as they drove their impressive racing machines from the Mountain into the city.
This was followed by the ‘Super Signing Session’ in the heart of the city, which also drew fantastic support from race enthusiasts.
Also today, the crew were busy putting the finishing touches on the garage ready for Thursday while PremiAir Racing Commercial Manager Peter Jamieson and Media and Communications Manager, Richard Smith, were up early at the top of the Mountain, filming with the team’s Bathurst Quiz competition winners – you can catch this video on the PremiAir Racing social platforms now.
The competition was part of the team’s Breast Cancer Awareness promotion in collaboration with Dunlop – which this year is again running tyres with pink lettering at the Bathurst 1000. Each winner received a special Team Pink scrub from team partner Syzmix Workwear, signed by the PremiAir Racing team.
While Wednesday was certainly busy, Tuesday was equally so. After flying into Sydney, the team and its drivers stopped in to visit long-time team partner Hi Flex on the way to Bathurst, before rolling into Russell Street for Fan Fest at Kings Park on Tuesday afternoon.
And the day was not yet over, with Richie Stanaway and Nash Morris then heading to Hotel Knickerbocker to join Supercars’ Drivers Only podcast for a special live recording event attended by around 100 lucky fans.
“The on-track action might not start until tomorrow, but it has already been a big week for everyone at PremiAir Racing,” Smith said.
“There is no event like the Great Race, and the preparations for the 1000 start way back at the beginning of the year.
“To finally be here in Bathurst is a great feeling for every member of our team, and we are absolutely champing at the bit to roll out tomorrow and get these fantastic looking PremiAir Racing Camaros and their special liveries out there on the Mountain.
“We have packed a lot into the last two days on top of all our usual event preparations, and it has been great to see the fans at the various appearances and also catch up with some of our fantastic partners – like Hi Flex who have been with us since day one.

“There is nothing quite like the fans at Bathurst and to be able to get out and meet so many of them over the past two days has been really wonderful.
“With their support, our spirits are well and truly riding high as we look to get into the biggest challenge of the year.”
