The Darwin Triple Crown is about to get even bigger, and PremiAir Racing will be there for all of it.
The Northern Territory Government has announced that Hidden Valley Raceway will host the first-ever Supercars night race in Darwin in 2027, adding a whole new dimension to one of the calendar’s most popular events.
Northern Territory Attorney General Marie-Clare Boothby made the announcement live on MotorRacing 360.
“We’re very excited tonight to announce that we’ll be holding a twilight event for Supercars and a night-time event for Supercars,” she said. “We’ll have one day, one twilight and one night race, so that is incredibly exciting, probably for the drivers and participants but very much so for the people who come to watch.”
The 2027 Darwin Triple Crown format will feature three races across the weekend: a Friday night race under lights, a twilight race on Saturday, and a daylight finale on Sunday.
Supercars interim CEO Barclay Nettlefold said the addition of night racing was a significant evolution for the event.
“Adding night racing to the Darwin Triple Crown is a major evolution for an event that is already a favourite among our fans, teams, and drivers,” he said. “There is nothing quite like Supercars under lights – the noise, the energy and the atmosphere create an incredible spectacle.”
