PremiAir Racing’s Declan Fraser has been elevated two positions to 14th in the final classification for Race 27 at the Ipswich Super 440 following the application of post-race penalties at Queensland Raceway.
Fraser had crossed the line 16th aboard the #777 PremiAir Racing Chevrolet Camaro following a challenging Saturday of racing for the team, but penalties handed to David Reynolds and Ryan Wood after the race saw the PremiAir Racing driver move forward two places in the amended results.
Reynolds, who had initially been classified eighth, was handed a five-second penalty following contact with Cameron Hill at Turn 6 on lap 30. The penalty ultimately dropped Reynolds to 16th in the final classification.
Wood was also penalised following a separate incident on the same lap involving James Golding and Anton De Pasquale at Turn 4.
After reviewing broadcast and in-car footage and hearing from the drivers and team representatives involved, the Stewards determined Wood was at fault for the contact which ultimately sent Golding into a spin.
A 15-second penalty was applied to Wood, dropping him from 14th to 23rd in the final Race 27 classification.
The two changes promote Fraser to P14, a small positive for PremiAir Racing at the end of what was otherwise a tough Saturday at Queensland Raceway.
The revised result also sees Fraser improve on his 17th-place finish from the opening race of the day.
PremiAir Racing will now turn its attention to Sunday and the final day of the Ipswich Super 440, with qualifying, the Top Ten Shootout and Race 28 providing another opportunity for Fraser and teammate Jayden Ojeda to move forward.
