There is always something special about heading to Darwin, and few places hold as much significance in PremiAir Racing’s history as Hidden Valley Raceway.
For PremiAir Racing, Hidden Valley Raceway has delivered some of our most memorable moments as a team. It was here in 2024 that we secured our first-ever Supercars pole position, while Romy Mayer became the first female race engineer to record a pole position in Supercars history. Moments like that become part of a team’s story forever, and every time we return to Darwin, they are great reminders of what is possible when everyone comes together and executes at the highest level.
Darwin also holds personal significance to me. Back in 2022, I secured my second consecutive Australian Top Fuel Championship at Hidden Valley Drag Strip, so it is a place where I have enjoyed some very special memories over the years.
As a team, we head north looking to continue building momentum and making further gains with both the #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro of Jayden Ojeda and the #777 Camaro of Declan Fraser.
It has been encouraging to watch Jayden and Declan continue to develop as drivers this season. Both have shown strong speed at various points throughout the year and are continuing to build valuable experience with the team and our Chevrolet Camaros. As a relatively new combination, there is still plenty of upside ahead of us, and Darwin presents another opportunity to keep building momentum, strengthen those working relationships and continue moving forward together as a group.
The Darwin Triple Crown is always one of the toughest events on the calendar. The heat, the abrasive track surface and the demands placed on the tyres mean that teams need to be on top of their game from the very first and only practice session. Looking after the tyres while maintaining speed throughout a race stint is always critical, and getting qualifying right is equally important, as track position can make a big difference over the weekend.
The competition in Supercars is incredibly close right now, and every session counts. We know there is still work to do, but we have been working hard behind the scenes, and the whole team is focused on continuing to improve every time we hit the track.
Another highlight for us this weekend will be the debut of our 2026 Indigenous livery, designed by Telisa (Tilly). We are incredibly proud to carry Tilly’s artwork at Darwin and again in Townsville as part of our recognition of Indigenous culture and our NAIDOC Week celebrations. The story behind the design is powerful, and we look forward to sharing it with fans throughout the event.
Away from the racing, Darwin is one of the great stops on the Supercars calendar. The transporter parade through the city, the Track To Town, the fan signing sessions and the atmosphere around Hidden Valley all combine to make it a fantastic event for competitors and fans alike.
As always, our goal is to maximise every opportunity, put ourselves in the fight throughout the weekend and continue taking steps forward as a team. We know what this place has delivered for us before, and we are excited to see what this year’s Darwin Triple Crown has in store.
