BRINGING A MOUNTAIN OF MOMENTUM TO THE GOLD COAST
It seems like only yesterday I was at The Mountain almost overwhelmed by what we had achieved and how close we had come to ultimate glory; and here we are now getting ready to take to the streets of Surfers Paradise!
There’s no doubt Bathurst was an emotional weekend for all of us – crossing the line first and standing on the podium at the Great Race is something we are all immensely proud of, and I am so proud that we were able to properly showcase the strength, resilience, and passion within this team.
But of course, in motorsport, you can never stay still for long, and now our focus turns to the Gold Coast 500 for what is one of the toughest and most exciting events on the calendar.
The crew has done a fantastic job turning the cars around in a short time frame, and we are heading to the track not only well prepared, but also full of confidence and determination to carry our hard-won Bathurst momentum and confidence into this unique event.
From racing on city streets amongst tall buildings surrounded by kerbs, tyre bundles and oh-so-close walls, under the beating Queensland October sun, the Gold Coast 500 track sure is a world away from The Mountain.
While it may represent a completely different kind of challenge, it is still plenty demanding – and rewarding – as a place where precision and aggression have to work hand in hand.
To get it right on the Gold Coast means exact driving lap after lap, a finely tuned-in set-up, and a completely different mindset.
With our crew and our drivers well and truly showing their ability at the 1000, I am confident we can bring a strong package to the table at Surfers Paradise this weekend – I can’t wait to see them in action once again as we try and get this run to the finish off to a strong start; especially as this is a home-state event for many of our partners and fans.
Speaking of the fans, this is certainly a fan favourite event and we are looking forward to entertaining them on the track and meeting them at the numerous off-track activities – all while soaking up the festival atmosphere. And here’s hoping we can be celebrating with some surfboards too!
Don’t forget, you can keep up to date across the weekend on our social platforms and also on our special WhatsApp Channel, proudly sponsored by Air & Allied Sales, which will feature live race coverage and exclusive team and behind the scenes updates (join now at https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaEGGiJ2kNFlJu5eeo1H).
Let’s go racing!
