PremiAir Racing and the rest of the 2026 Supercars Championship field are all eyes forward to this weekend’s season opener following the conclusion of the official pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park this evening.
While split across two vastly different days Wednesday and Thursday, PremiAir Racing reports both test sessions delivered value, allowing them to complete an in-depth test program across a variety of conditions which has provided valuable data ahead of this weekend’s round one of the 2026 Supercars championship – also being held at Sydney Motorsport Park (February 20-22).
Wednesday’s session was run in intense 36-degree heat, allowing the team to evaluate performance in high temperature conditions. The day concluded with dedicated pit stop and fuel drop practice, as the crew looked to fine tune their procedures as much as possible.
Thursday then brought a night session under lights, starting in 29-degree temperatures before cooling to 25-degrees by the time the session closed. The cooler conditions, which were more closely aligned to those expected for the weekend’s night racing, provided the perfect opportunity to test in race-style conditions.
Across both days, strong mileage was completed across both PremiAir Racing Chevrolet Camaros, as Declan Fraser in the #777 and Jayden Ojeda in the #31 worked with their engineers through a structured program designed to evaluate changes and refine balance.
With testing now complete, the focus shifts to round one and converting the lessons learned over the last two days into a strong start to the season.
The action kicks off tomorrow, Friday 20 February, with practice one at 1.55pm, ahead of qualifying for race one at 4.20pm. Race one will then be held across 26 laps, starting at 7.50pm.
On Saturday 21 February, qualifying for race two will be held at 3.40pm before a top ten shootout at 4.35pm. Race two will then be held across 52 laps, beginning at 7.35pm.
Sunday 22 February will employ the same format, with qualifying (12.10pm) and a top ten shootout (1.05pm) before a 52 lap race at 4.05pm to close proceedings.

QUOTEBOARD: SYDNEY TEST DAY – 19 FEBRUARY 2026 – SYDNEY MOTORSPORT PARK

Declan Fraser – #777 PremiAir Racing Camaro
“It’s been fantastic. I’ve had two years out of the seat full-time, so to get back in and have a full two days of testing before our first round is pretty much the best way to return.
We experienced both hot and cooler conditions, which was really valuable. For me, a big focus was ergonomics and getting comfortable again in these cars, especially over longer runs.
We worked through a lot of changes over the two days to really understand what I’m looking for in a car after being out of one for so long. That was important not just for me, but also for Simon and building that driver-engineer connection again.
I feel like we made some really positive progress, and I can’t wait to get to Round One this weekend.”

Jayden Ojeda – #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro
“It’s not very often you get two half-days of testing like this, so being able to fully maximise it for both Declan and myself was really valuable. We’ve had a lot of new components and new ergonomics in the car, so having that break between sessions to refine a few things was super beneficial.
It was great to get solid running on the full circuit tonight as well. All in all, I’m really happy with how the two days went. There are quite a few new faces within the team, but everyone’s gelled really well, and that’s been a big positive.
It’s been a super productive couple of days. I feel like I was able to tune the setup to what I need and build a better understanding of what these cars respond to and what they don’t. That’s something I can add to the toolbox moving forward to make sure I’m where I need to be.”
