Premiair Racing wrapped up the Perth Supercars round on a high, with Jayden Ojeda producing a standout drive from 20th on the grid to finish eighth in Race 25, while Declan Fraser brought home a solid 16th-place finish after a well-executed strategy race.
The day began with a challenging qualifying session, with both drivers narrowly missing progression beyond Part 1. Ojeda qualified 20th, while Fraser lined up 22nd for the 200km, 80-lap finale.
Despite the starting positions, the team remained confident heading into the race, knowing strategy, tyre management and flawless execution in pit lane would play a major role.
Ojeda wasted no time making progress, slicing through the field in the opening laps before committing to an extended first stint. Running long allowed the #31 to capitalise on executing an alternative strategy, with Ojeda emerging in the fight for the top 10 after the pit stop cycle.
Fraser was the first of the Premiair Racing entries to pit, stopping early for four fresh Dunlop Soft tyres and fuel before using clean air to push hard and gain valuable time. His second stop was equally impressive, with the crew delivering another fast, faultless service to send him on his way to the finish.
The team’s pit crew continued to shine throughout the afternoon. Under immense pressure, both final pit stops were completed flawlessly, helping maximise track position in the closing stages. Their efforts were rewarded after the race, with the team recording the fastest pit stop time of the day across the field.
With all compulsory pit stops complete by the closing stages, the focus shifted to tyre management. Regular radio updates helped Ojeda carefully manage his tyre temperatures while maintaining strong pace as he defended and attacked inside the top 10.
After passing 12 cars across the 80-lap contest, Ojeda crossed the line in an impressive eighth place, capping off one of the drives of the day. Fraser also delivered a determined performance to finish 16th after holding off strong pressure during the closing laps from 888 Will Brown.
The result capped off a positive finish to the Perth weekend, with strong race pace, smart strategy and exceptional pit crew execution providing plenty of confidence for the team.
While the racing may be over, the work continues. The crew will remain in Perth on Monday to service and prepare both cars before the transporter heads directly to The Bend Motorsport Park for Friday’s Rookie Test, where Jayden Ojeda will continue his development behind the wheel. From there, the team will make the journey back to the Gold Coast, wrapping up a busy and productive west coast campaign.

“Sunday was a much more positive day for us. The team turned the car upside down overnight, and it felt very different in qualifying. I didn’t get the most out of it in quali, with the margins so tight around here, it doesn’t take much to miss out.
Starting from 20th, though, the car was an absolute rocket ship. Massive credit to the whole crew; they gave me a fast car and delivered some really sharp pit stops, which helped us make up a lot of ground.
To fight our way through from P20 to P8 was a huge turnaround. It’s an awesome way to finish what had been a difficult weekend and gives us plenty of positives to take forward.”

“Sunday’s done and dusted. Qualifying wasn’t where we wanted to be, so we knew we’d have some work to do in the race. We had a bit of confidence after yesterday and were able to carry that into today.
“To come away with a P16 finish after starting from P22 is a solid result. The strategy worked well, the crew did an awesome job in pit lane, and we managed to make up some good ground throughout the race.
“There’s still plenty for us to learn, but it’s nice to finish the weekend moving forward. We’ll take the positives from Perth and keep building from here.”
