Premiair Racing kicked off its Darwin Triple Crown campaign with a productive Friday at Hidden Valley Raceway, showing encouraging pace across practice, qualifying and Race 17.
The day began with a solid practice session, where both drivers worked through an extensive program focused on setup refinement and data collection. As the session progressed, the team’s pace became increasingly evident, with both Camaros finishing inside the top five at various stages and building confidence ahead of qualifying.
Qualifying delivered a strong result for Jayden Ojeda, who advanced through the opening qualifying segment before executing a well-timed strategy in Part 2. With changing weather conditions adding an extra challenge, Ojeda secured a place near the front of the grid for Race 17. Team-mate Declan Fraser narrowly missed progressing through to the final qualifying segment but remained optimistic heading into the race.
Race 17 proved to be a challenging affair. An early loss of positions off the start left Ojeda with work to do, prompting an aggressive strategy call from the team to complete an early compulsory pit stop and take advantage of clean air. The strategy helped keep him in contention throughout the race, while Fraser continued to fight hard in the midfield.
A late Safety Car set up a one-lap sprint to the finish, with Ojeda ultimately classified ninth and Fraser 20th following a post-race penalty applied elsewhere in the field.
The team now turns its attention to Saturday’s qualifying and Race 18. 🏁

“Friday done here in Darwin and, overall, it was a positive day. Another top 10 result to add to the bank, which is encouraging.
Unfortunately, I didn’t do a good enough job at the start and on the opening lap, and that’s something we really need to address. The pace in the car is strong enough to race where we’re racing, but starts are so important in this category and we’re giving away too much early.
We’ll go through the data tonight, work out where we can improve, and make sure we come back stronger for the next two races. There are definitely positives to take from today, but there’s still more to unlock.”
Declan (Decca) Fraser
“Friday’s done here in Darwin and, all in all, it wasn’t too bad. We were 11th in practice and qualified 16th, so I think the pace in the car is reasonably strong.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the start we needed in the race, and then a lock-up early on put us on the back foot. From there, it was really about managing the situation and bringing the car home.
I feel like there’s definitely more potential in it. We’ll go through everything tonight, tidy up a few areas, and come back ready for qualifying tomorrow. If we can start a bit further up the grid, I think a Top 10 result is definitely achievable. We’ll see how we go.”
