The man at the helm of PremiAir Racing is being tipped as a future inductee into the Supercars Hall of Fame, and those who know the sport best say it is only a matter of time.
Roland Dane’s name has been raised in discussions around the next wave of Hall of Fame inductees, with his body of work as a team leader placing him firmly in the conversation. Since the Hall’s inception, only a handful of team leaders have been recognised, and Dane’s credentials stack up against any of them.
During his time at the head of one of the sport’s most dominant outfits, Dane oversaw nine drivers’ championships and 10 teams’ championships a record that speaks for itself. But rather than stepping away from the sport, Dane chose to continue building, taking on a new challenge at PremiAir Racing ahead of the 2026 Supercars Championship season.
In a recent piece examining future Supercars Hall of Fame candidates, V8 Sleuth noted that “his legacy is continuing now at PremiAir Racing”, a sentiment that rings true for everyone inside the team’s Arundel workshop.
With Jayden “Juice” Ojeda and Declan (Decca) Fraser flying the PremiAir colours in 2026, Dane’s influence is already being felt on track. Ojeda’s career-best P3 qualifying result at Symmons Plains during the Tasmania Super 440 was a clear signal that the team is on the move.
Whether or not the Hall of Fame call comes sooner or later, what matters most at PremiAir Racing is what happens on track, and under Roland Dane’s leadership, the direction is clear.
