PremiAir Racing Team Principal Roland Dane believes the team is making significant strides in the 2026 Supercars Championship, with Jayden Ojeda’s recent form providing further evidence that the team is moving in the right direction.
Ojeda has established himself as one of the championship’s standout rookies, climbing to 12th in the Supercars Championship standings after a run of six top-10 finishes across the past nine races.
The consistent performances continued at the NTI Townsville 500, where Ojeda secured finishes of ninth, 11th and 10th despite starting from ninth, 17th and 10th on the grid across the weekend.
For Dane, those results reflect a team that is continuing to build its competitiveness while working towards becoming a regular front-running contender.
“It’s probably a reflection of where we are at the moment,” Dane said.
“We’ve got maybe a little bit better potential qualifying speed than we have race speed, but we’re getting better at it all the time.”
While acknowledging the strength of the current Supercars field, Dane believes PremiAir Racing is steadily reducing the gap to the category’s benchmark teams.
“It’s a little bit like looking at Formula 1 at the moment where you’ve got four big teams and then you’ve got the midfield scrapping,” he said.
“I hate it, but that’s how it feels at the moment. I don’t think we’re miles away, but we’ve got to try and take that next step.”
Dane also highlighted how competitive the current championship has become, with teams throughout the field experiencing fluctuating fortunes from event to event.
“You see that Anton [De Pasquale]‘s sometimes up there, sometimes not. It’s very variable for all of us at the moment.”
Since joining PremiAir Racing at the beginning of the 2026 season, Dane has overseen the team’s continued development under owner Peter Xiberras, with the focus firmly on building consistency and challenging the sport’s established front-runners.
With Ojeda continuing to deliver strong performances and the team making steady gains throughout the season, Dane is confident PremiAir Racing is heading in the right direction as it continues its push towards the front of the Supercars grid.
