PremiAir Racing has closed out its Melbourne SuperSprint with its strongest result of the weekend, with Jayden Ojeda moving through to P7 while Declan Fraser brought the #777 home in P11 after running inside the top ten throughout the final run to the flag.
After yesterday’s qualifying, Ojeda and the #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro started what was scheduled to be a 14 lap / 80km race from P13 while Fraser positioned the #777 PremiAir Racing Camaro P20.
Both had a clean start before being forced into evasive action as cars spun in all directions through turns one and two.
Thankfully, all drivers involved were okay despite some very heavy impacts, and for PremiAir Racing, both Camaros made it through, with only light rear contact to the #777.
With cars littered across the track, the safety car was deployed, with Ojeda and Fraser P9 and P13 as the field circulated under yellow for four laps.
The restart came on lap five and Ojeda and Fraser dug in for what was a remaining eight laps of green running given the time lost under yellow.
Juice quickly pushed through to P7 and held firm until the flag. Fraser meanwhile climbed to P10 with five laps remaining and defended strongly, before ultimately crossing the line P11.
While the team narrowly missed a top ten double, the result marked a clear high point for the weekend in terms of results – and importantly, the cars escaped major damage, given they are due to be loaded into containers in just 7 days for their trip across the Tasman for the upcoming New Zealand double header.
The Taupo Super 440 will be held across 10-12 April, and will then be followed the very next weekend by the Christchurch Super 440 (17-19 April). For the full details on those events, go to www.supercars.com

QUOTEBOARD: MELBOURNE SUPERSPRINT AT THE AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX – SUNDAY 8 MARCH 2026

Jayden Ojeda – #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro
“Finally, a bit of luck. I got a good start and saw a couple of cars come together on the run down to Turn One, so I knew it was going to get chaotic – and it did. I had to jump on the grass to avoid it, but we actually came out of it in a pretty good spot.
Then it was straight into the Safety Car. I managed the restarts reasonably well and the pace of the car was strong, so we were able to pick off a few more spots before the end and come home seventh, which is a great way to finish.
It’s been a challenging weekend, especially after Thursday, so it’s good to build some momentum and take some real positives into the next round.”

Declan Fraser – #777 PremiAir Racing Camaro
“11th today after a pretty chaotic start. I copped a couple of hits on both sides at Turn One, but we managed to scrape through it, which was good, and came out somewhere in the mid-teens. From there, we were able to work our way forward and come home 11th.
For us, that’s real progress. It’s only the second round of the season, but we’re starting to get a bit more control and become more competitive, which is really encouraging.
I’m super stoked and can’t thank PremiAir and the whole #777 crew enough for their efforts over the weekend. We’ll take the positives and roll on to New Zealand.”
