CLEAR SKIES FOR THE AIRTOUCH 500

The opening round of the Ryco Enduro Cup is shaping up to be a cracker, and the weather has done its part by staying out of the way.

The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting clean, dry conditions across all three days of this weekend’s AirTouch 500 at The Bend Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend, South Australia.

  • Friday September 11: 4–21°C, no rain
  • Saturday September 12: 8–24°C, no rain
  • Sunday September 13: 13–25°C, no rain

No rain, no drama — at least from the skies. For PremiAir Racing, stable conditions mean the focus stays exactly where it should be: on car setup, driver integration and tyre management across 147 laps on Sunday’s West Circuit layout.

That last point matters. Temperatures rise across the weekend, peaking at 25°C on race day, warm enough to place real emphasis on tyre degradation over the long Sunday stints. Pit stop strategy, tyre allocation and how each pairing manages pace will be key variables in the race outcome for Jayden Ojeda and David Russell in the #31, and Declan Fraser and Nash Morris in the #777.

It’s also worth noting the circuit change this year. After last year’s event on the International layout, the 2026 AirTouch 500 moves to the shorter West Circuit, the same layout used during test day earlier in the season, giving both PremiAir Racing entries useful reference data as they prepare for what promises to be a challenging 147-lap contest.

A 26-car field will take the start on Sunday. The action begins Friday, September 11.
