COLD CONDITIONS EXPECTED AT SYMMONS PLAINS

With the Tyrepower Tasmania Super440 just days away at Symmons Plains Raceway, the Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting a cool and potentially wet weekend for the field, so fans heading to Launceston would be wise to pack a jacket and a raincoat.

Friday shapes up as the pick of the weekend, with temperatures ranging from a crisp 2°C up to 16°C and only a 10 per cent chance of rain during the twin practice sessions.

Conditions are expected to become more challenging from Saturday, with temperatures between 4°C and 15°C and a 70 per cent chance of 0–3mm of rain falling across the two 120km races.

Sunday’s main 200km feature race day brings similar prospects, temperatures ranging from 5°C to 14°C, and another 70 per cent chance of rain, with 0–6mm possible.

Rain and cold often make for great racing at Symmons Plains, and Jayden Ojeda (#31) and Declan Fraser (#777) will be ready for whatever the Tasmanian winter throws at them.

The undercard across the weekend features the V8 SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, Aussie Racing Cars and Tasmanian Tin Tops.
