LUDO LACROIX JOINS PREMIAIR RACING

Highly respected engineer Ludo Lacroix will be joining PremiAir Racing at the commencement of the 2024 Supercars season, greatly bolstering the team’s engineering department.

The championship-winning engineer is eager to get started in the full-time position with the Arundel-based team, which in 2024 will contest its third Supercars season.

By joining PremiAir Racing, Ludo has been reunited with some familiar faces, including Team Manager Stephen Robertson.

Robertson and Lacroix first met in 2002 in Germany while working for ABT SportsLine in DTM, where together with Laurent Aiello they won the 2002 Championship. Lacroix then introduced Robertson to Roland Dane and the pair each moved to Australia at the end of 2003 to be part of the establishment of Triple Eight Race Engineering – the start of a long Supercars career for both parties.

In the years since, Ludo has gone on to taste much success in the Supercars paddock with both Triple Eight and DJR/Team Penske.

Ludo was the Technical Director at Triple Eight for many years, as well as designing the aero for the BF, FG and VF of the Ford and Holden Championship-winning cars, he also led the engineering team that secured Roland Dane’s outfit multiple Team and Driver Championships before moving to DJR as the Competition director where he engineered Car 17, winning the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Supercars championships.

“We are exceptionally pleased to have someone of Ludo’s calibre joining the PremiAir Racing team,” Team Owner, Peter Xiberras, said.

“It is no secret that we are dedicated to having the best people on our team, and clearly Ludo is a heavyweight in his field.

“With Ludo and Stephen having worked together previously at Triple Eight, there is also an aspect of getting the band back together which I think will serve us well in 2024”.

PremiAir Racing’s first Supercars outing of 2024 will come on February 5, with Queensland Raceway to host the championship’s Queensland teams’ test day.

The first competitive laps will be turned later that month for the season-opening Bathurst 500, to be held at the infamous Mount Panorama across February 23-25.
