The Australian Grand Prix is a massive event by any measure, and heading back to Albert Park for the Melbourne Super Sprint always brings a special kind of energy.
The fan numbers were huge last year and will no doubt be the same again this weekend, and those spectator statistics alone are justification enough for Supercars to continue being part of this world-class event.
Since we first started coming to the AGP, a lot has changed for the better – most of all, the access for fans.
Last year’s move to relocate the Supercars paddock to outside the final corner and pit straight, as part of the new Motorsport Straight precinct, was a gamechanger. It brought us closer to the people who support us, and I’m pleased to say it will be the same again this year.
This will be our fifth trip to Albert Park as a team – with a previous best race result of 6th place in 2022 and a best qualifying result of 4th in 2025 – and it will be the second appearance here for both of our new drivers, Declan Fraser and Jayden Ojeda.
Declan comes to this event with the benefit of a previous Supercars start here back in 2023, which also marked his first and, so far, only top ten finish in the championship. To say he is hungry to build on that is an understatement!
For Jayden, while this will be his first time on this circuit in a Supercar, he did race here back in 2018 in Formula 4, and he has been working around the clock to be as prepared as possible to tackle this incredible place.
The event itself presents a unique challenge for the entire field. We are competing on an internationalgrade Formula 1 circuit with characteristics we do not typically encounter elsewhere. It demands absolute precision and confidence, combining high-speed sections with technical corners that test both the drivers and the engineering teams. And of course, there are those famous, amazing, long sweeping bends – we love watching back the vision of the cars racing through those!
With limited practice time across what is always a remarkably busy weekend, getting the setup right from the outset will be critical. It is certainly a demanding event, but I can assure you it is one we are fully prepared to take on as we continue to build on the strong foundations we have put in place for 2026.
As always, we’re proud to represent our partners on one of the biggest stages in world motorsport. Events like the AGP remind us just how passionate and engaged our fanbase is, and having the opportunity to race in front of such a massive crowd is something we never take for granted.
We’re ready for a big weekend at Albert Park – let’s go racing!
