PETER PREVIEW: TASMANIA SUPER 440

As we get ready for the Tasmania Super 440, we again head over water to compete this time across Bass Strait to the Apple Isle for what is always a unique and demanding event at Symmons Plains.

Coming off our New Zealand swing, the turnaround has been a real test for our team. The cars only arrived back from New Zealand on Tuesday, the 5th, which left under two weeks to unpack the container, service the cars, prepare everything properly, and repack the truck for Mick to head to Port Melbourne, ready to travel on SeaRoad’s Mersey II across Bass Strait.

That sort of schedule puts pressure on every part of the operation, but it is also where the strength of a race team shows. Our crew has worked extremely hard to make sure we are prepared, and I cannot thank them enough for the effort they continue to put in.

This weekend’s format is similar to the last round, with two shorter races on Saturday and one longer race on Sunday. At Symmons Plains, where a lap of the 2.4-kilometre circuit takes less than a minute, execution will be absolutely critical. Pit stops will be vitally important, because any time lost in the lane can be crippling. You can rest assured we will be doing everything we can to be on our A-game.

The circuit itself is short, fast, and deceptively technical. It places a big emphasis on braking performance, traction, and getting strong drive onto the straights. Qualifying will matter, but race execution will be just as important across the three races.

This weekend presents another opportunity for Declan and Jayden to keep developing their skills. Both drivers are diligently collaborating with their engineers and working to progress within our program. The emphasis is on executing cleanly, maximizing their qualifying performance, maintaining consistency throughout the races, and seizing every opportunity that arises.

Away from the track, we also have a lot happening at our Gold Coast workshop, with our facility upgrade now well underway. That project is about improving workflow, expanding usable space, and creating a more efficient high-performance environment to support where we want this team to go. It is an important investment in our future and another step in strengthening the foundations of PremiAir Racing.

There are no shortcuts in this championship. Progress comes from preparation, discipline and execution, and that is where our focus remains. Tasmania always presents a challenge, but we are heading there prepared, committed, and ready to keep moving forward.
