After a challenging Townsville 500 for the #777 Camaro, PremiAir Racing is wasting no time in getting to work with a dedicated rookie test day at Queensland Raceway locked in for Wednesday.
Declan Fraser’s sole allocated rookie day for the 2026 season has been planned for months and gives the team a valuable opportunity to work through some of the front-end feel issues that plagued the car across the Townsville weekend.
Team principal Roland Dane was direct about the work ahead but equally clear about his commitment to Fraser completing the season. “The intention is that absolutely he does the season,” Dane confirmed.
Despite a difficult weekend at Reid Park, where Friday’s career-best 11th-place qualifying result gave genuine encouragement before the race results didn’t follow, the team is pushing forward. With Wednesday’s test day on the horizon and the Ryco Enduro Cup approaching, there’s plenty of racing still to be done in 2026.
Queensland Raceway’s flowing layout makes it an excellent venue for a focused test day, allowing the team to methodically work through set-up changes and data collection without the pressures of a race weekend. With the transporter returning from Townsville on Tuesday, the turnaround will be tight, but PremiAir Racing has never been a team that sits still when there’s work to be done.
Looking at the bigger picture, the back half of the 2026 season still holds plenty of opportunity. Perth is next on the calendar, followed by another sprint round back at Queensland Raceway before the Ryco Enduro Cup gets underway, where the additional laps and experience gained in Wednesday’s test could prove genuinely useful for Fraser.
Enduro co-driver Nash Morris will also be trackside on Wednesday. Under championship regulations, Morris is permitted a maximum of 10 laps in the car, a valuable early hit-out ahead of the enduro season for the two drivers who will share the #777 Camaro.
