PremiAir Racing has completed a busy Saturday at The Bend, with both cars working through the final preparations for Sunday’s AirTouch 500 before Car #31 secured a place in the Top Ten Shootout.
The day began with Practice 4, a dedicated co-driver session that gave David (DRuss) Russell and Nash (Flash) Morris valuable track time ahead of Sunday’s 500-kilometre race.
The focus then shifted to race preparation for the final all-driver practice session, with both co-drivers starting aboard their respective cars.
With the session allowing live pit stops, the team used the opportunity to rehearse full enduro stops, including driver changes and fuel fills, before the main drivers took over.
Qualifying later in the afternoon saw both cars tackle a busy session as the fight for a place in the Top Ten Shootout intensified.
Jayden (Juice) Ojeda, delivered when it counted aboard Car #31, progressing through to the Top Ten Shootout after qualifying in eighth position.
For Declan (Decca) Fraser in Car #777, his qualifying result means the pairing will start Sunday’s AirTouch 500 from P24.
Juice returned to the track later in the afternoon for the Top Ten Shootout, with Car #31 the third entry to take to the circuit.
He produced a 1:17.0733 on his flying lap, which ultimately secured P10 on the grid for himself and DRuss for Sunday’s race, with just under 7 tenths separating the top ten.
After a full day of race preparation, pit stop practice and qualifying, both crews are ready for the challenge of 500 kilometres of Supercars racing at The Bend.

QUOTEBOARD: AIRTOUCH 500 – Saturday 12th September 2026

Jayden Ojeda / David Russell – #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro
Jayden Ojeda
“Really positive day for us. We had a strong Friday and backed it up today by making the Shootout, so starting from 10th tomorrow is a good result.
We’ve got 500 kilometres ahead of us to see where we stack up in the race, and I’m looking forward to handing the keys over to D-Russ and seeing what magic he can work. He’s obviously a bit of a guru when it comes to these endurance races, so I’m excited to see what we can do together.
All in all, I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing what the day has in store for us.”
David Russell
“It was good to get plenty of laps in today. The co-driver session was really useful because it gave me the chance to focus on race pace, particularly on a used tyre, and keep repeating the process.
A big part of that is making sure you’re not overworking the rear tyre, not trying too hard under brakes, and not asking too much of it on corner exit. It was good to work through that and get a better feel for what we’ll need in the race.
The team did a great job, and Jayden did an awesome job to get us into the Top 10 Shootout. They had to try something in the Shootout, and I know there was a little bit of disappointment afterwards, but when you look at the bigger picture, being inside the top 10 and making the Shootout heading into an Enduro Cup race means you’re doing a good job.
So, plenty of positives there and onwards and upwards for tomorrow.”

Declan Fraser / Nash Morris – #777 PremiAir Racing Camaro
Declan Fraser
“Practice wasn’t too bad for us. I felt like we were in a relatively decent window, but we struggled a little bit more once we got into qualifying.
I didn’t have enough margin with the front locking, and from there we chased the setup a bit through the session but never quite nailed it.
The positive is that Nash completed a race run for us in the previous practice session and that looked quite encouraging, so I’m still confident heading into tomorrow. We know it’s a long race, and starting from where we are, there should be opportunities to make some passes and move forward.
We’ll just take it stint by stint and lap by lap and see what we can make of the 500.”
Nash Morris
“It was a good session this morning and another valuable co-driver session where I got a decent amount of time in the car, so that helped me get a bit more comfortable.
We didn’t really do any long runs, more a few medium-length runs, but it was still useful to get a better feel for where the car is at with the setup.
Qualifying didn’t quite go our way, but that’s racing. Tomorrow is a long day, so we’ll just put our heads down and focus on moving forward. There’s not a lot of pressure on us from where we’re starting, so we’ll take it as it comes, do the best job we can and hopefully have a strong race.”
