Queensland Raceway is reviewed, the lessons are noted, and PremiAir Racing’s focus is squarely on what comes next.
With the Ryco Enduro Cup beginning at the AirTouch 500 from September 11–13, the team heads to The Bend Motorsport Park with renewed purpose. It’s the start of the long-distance phase of the season, the rounds that carry the most points and the most opportunity for momentum swings.
For Jayden Ojeda and the #31 crew, the enduros represent a fresh chapter. The backdrop is actually stronger than a difficult Ipswich round might suggest. Despite the last two rounds, Ojeda ranked 10th in V8 Sleuth’s independent Sprint Cup power rankings published at the end of August, a reflection of a rookie season that has been, by most measures, a genuine standout.
Prior to Ipswich, Ojeda had finished in the top 10 at five consecutive rounds, regularly positioning as the most competitive Chevrolet on the grid. His qualifying head-to-head record against teammate Declan Fraser stands at 21-7, and he leads 22-6 across race results. V8 Sleuth described him as “a real deal prospect”, and the numbers justify that assessment.
Now, with David Russell alongside in the #31 Camaro, Ojeda has the partner best placed to help him translate that sprint season pace into enduro results. Russell has earned a reputation as something of a Midas touch for PremiAir Racing: in 144 races without him, the team recorded zero podiums; in four races with him, it has two, including a first-across-the-line result at the 2025 Bathurst 1000. His experience and race craft are exactly what this enduro campaign calls for.
On the other side of the garage, Declan Fraser and Nash Morris share the #777 Camaro for the enduro, a pairing with plenty of motivation and a point to prove.
