PremiAir Racing made an immediate start to the Tasmania Super 440, with both Camaros rolling out as soon as pit lane opened, while the team also completed an early pit board systems check as part of standard operational procedures.
Declan Fraser finished Practice 1 in 10th, with Jayden Ojeda close behind in 11th as the team quickly settled into the afternoon’s running at Symmons Plains Raceway.
With just a short five-minute turnaround between sessions, the crew worked efficiently to reset, refuel and make setup changes before Practice 2 commenced.
As track conditions continued to improve throughout the afternoon, both drivers showed strong pace around the tight Symmons Plains circuit. Ojeda climbed to third fastest in Practice 2 with a 50.98-second lap on fresh green tyres late in the session, finishing just four tenths from the benchmark time, while Fraser wrapped up the day in 12th.
Cool but clear conditions greeted teams for the opening day of running, with blue skies and 14-degree temperatures providing ideal conditions for practice.
The team now shifts focus to qualifying and racing on Saturday, armed with valuable data and a strong foundation to build from heading into the competitive sessions.

Peter Xiberras – Team Owner.
“We rolled out with a clear program today and I thought the team executed really well across both sessions. The turnaround between Practice 1 and Practice 2 was tight, but everyone stayed focused and the cars continued improving as the track evolved.
There’s still work to do, but it’s encouraging to see the pace we showed this afternoon and it gives us a solid platform heading into qualifying tomorrow.”

Jayden Ojeda – #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro
“First day wrapped up here in Tasmania and it was a pretty cool way to finish it off, heading into my first media press conference as a primary driver.
It was a bit of an unusual day to start with. It felt like we spent five or six hours waiting around before jumping straight into two back-to-back practice sessions, so it made for a busy afternoon for everyone. The crew did a great job getting everything turned around after coming in late today.
From my side, I felt like we tuned the car in a good direction between the sessions. There wasn’t a huge amount of time to make changes, but we managed it well and overall it was a really positive start to the weekend for us.”

Declan Fraser – #777 PremiAir Racing Camaro
“Pretty solid day overall. We finished P10 and P12 across the two sessions, so to be consistently around that top 10 mark is encouraging. That’s where we want to be fighting, and the goal now is to keep building towards shootout appearances.
The qualifying simulation was really valuable as well, especially with everyone ending the session on green tyres. It gave us a clear picture of where we stack up against the field and where we still need to improve.
Both sides of the garage did a really good job today, and for us now it’s about fine-tuning the package and understanding what we need to go faster. There’s definitely a stronger process in place with how we’re approaching the weekends now, and Hodgy and I have put a lot of work into that away from the track.
I felt like both practice sessions flowed really well, so we’ll keep working through it overnight and see what we can do in qualifying and the races tomorrow.”
