SUCCESSFUL TEST DAY PREMIAIR RACING

SUCCESSFUL TEST DAY SEES PREMIAIR RACING READY FOR EPIC ENDURO SEASON

With the official Supercars Championship pre-enduro test day now complete at Queensland Raceway, it is all eyes forward for PremiAir Racing and its fellow competitors to the start of 2025’s endurance season: The Bend 500 at The Bend Motorsport Park (September 12-14).

Jimmy Golding and co-driver David Russell (#31 PremiAir Racing Camaro) and Richie Stanaway and co-driver Nash Morris (#62 PremiAir Racing Camaro) turned plenty of laps at the Ipswich venue known affectionately as ‘The Paperclip’ today in preparation for the highly intense challenge which awaits them at The Bend and just weeks’ later, Mount Panorama (Bathurst 1000 – October 9-12).

While the focus of the day wasn’t primarily on lap times with a much bigger agenda at play, at the close of the day PremiAir Racing laid claim to the 11th and 15th quickest times overall and was consistently within the top ten and top five runners at different parts of the program.

In addition to working through an intense preparation list to ensure the cars, as well as all four drivers and every team member, were ready and raring to go, PremiAir Racing may have something special lined up for the enduros… stay tuned.

QUOTEBOARD: SUPERCARS PRE-ENDURO TEST DAY, QUEENSLAND RACEWAY – TUESDAY 12 AUGUST, 2025

Ludo Lacroix – Competition Director, PremiAir Racing

“We had no problems today, I think once we put a foot in the gravel, that is about it. We went through a lot of things, we went through our pit stop strategy, pit stop change, brake change, driver change, fuel load… The car has been pretty pacey, and the co-drivers have been pretty pacey which is pleasing – that is on this track, so we need to make sure they will be quite fit for the next track. Luckily Nash is doing a race with GT4 the week before so that will open his eyes at The Bend for our first enduro race in three weeks. Look, we are coming off an okay weekend, and we probably did one or two changes that were interesting. We don’t always need to be changing things on these sorts of days, we have the help of Triple Eight most of the time, so we just need to understand what we have done and talk to them and understand if it is a way forward. But all drivers seem to be happy, and the cars have run faultless with no issues, so I am happy and we carry on and dig deeper and learn more and understand more of the car, have the drivers understand more of the tyre, and try and get to the pointy end and get into the top ten all of the time, not just some of the time.”

Jimmy Golding – #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro

“It has been a big day with a lot going on and stuff flying everywhere through the garage; so many people and lots of different things – brake changes and driver changes and seats and set up changes and all that sort of jazz. There were a lot of things we wanted to try today and we got through pretty much everything which was awesome. We obviously don’t get too many of these days anymore, we only get the one at the start of the year and the one before the enduros so you really need to try and maximise it as much as you can. A lot of work went in behind the scenes before the day and we have ticked pretty much every box, which is awesome.”

David Russell – co-driver, #31 PremiAir Racing Camaro

“I have really enjoyed coming back to PremiAir Racing. You get such limited miles and it felt really good even from the warm-up laps this morning to be honest with you. We were straight down to competitive times and I just felt really comfortable which is very nice. I like this new ’25 tyre so that is a positive for me. I can really feel the car a lot better on this new spec tyre versus the hard that we had at Bathurst which was just a lot more difficult. All in all, a really good day, there were a lot of things we have tested between Jimmy and I and the best part is we both are agreeing with the direction on the car and what we need to do. There are lots of positives; obviously at the moment without knowing what people’s tyre bank looks like, we have had a good day on the time sheets and for us we have been consistently sort of inside that top five/top ten all day, so I am really happy with how things have gone.”

Richie Stanaway – #62 PremiAir Racing Camaro

“It has been a good test day. There have been a few things I have wanted to try that I have been looking forward to for months but you never have a chance to try them on a race weekend so it has been really exciting to finally try those setup changes and just confirm a few things. Nash is up to speed so he is doing a really good job. We moved through all of our endurance procedures, driver changes, and just got comfortable with all of those procedures – it has been a good day.”

Nash Morris – co-driver, #62 PremiAir Racing Camaro

“I am feeling pretty good. I have done a lot of laps today and a lot of learning. It is pretty cool to learn from Richie Stanaway who has won Bathurst and the Sandown endurance event. We have pretty much ticked off all the boxes we could tick off today. We did a lot of driver change practice, fuel saving, race runs – pretty much all the stuff I need to do as a co-driver to do my job the best I can, and I am just really looking forward to it.”
