NULON/PREMIAIR RACING HEADS TO DARWIN WITH CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE

When Nulon/PremiAir Racing arrives in Darwin later this week, it will roll into an all-out championship battle.

This weekend (16-18 June) will host not only the latest round of the Repco Supercars Championship, the Darwin Triple Crown, but also the final round of 2022/2023 Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship, Nitro Up North – with both events to be held within the Hidden Valley motorsports precinct.

Team Owner and Top Fuel racer Peter Xiberras is currently just 60 points shy of the Top Fuel title leader, Damien Harris.

While some luck will be required, anything could happen at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip and Xiberras and his team will be giving it their all to try and come home with their third consecutive national Top Fuel championship.

“There’s a special thrill in chasing 60 points and a third championship title. And sharing that journey with my Nulon Racing family in Darwin for the second time? Absolutely priceless,” Xiberras said.

“We’ve tasted victory before, and we’re hungry for more. It will be a fight to the finish, but remember; it isn’t over until the checkered flag waves. Darwin, we’re coming with all engines blazing.”

It will be a non-stop weekend for the team, with the Hidden Valley Raceway hosting three days of Supercars action in what is Supercars’ Indigenous Round.

In preparation for the event – at which the Nulon Racing Camaros will carry special liveries designed by Aboriginal Indigenous Australian, William Hewitt – Nulon Racing headed to Queensland Raceway last week for a very successful test day.

“As we prepare for the Darwin Triple Crown Supercar race, the spirit of competition and ambition that drives us is at its peak,” Team Principal, Matt Cook, said.

“We, as a team, are focused on the challenge ahead.

“I am especially excited to see our team owner, Peter Xiberras, fiercely battling it out for his third straight Top Fuel championship.

“His passion, grit, and determination are a beacon of inspiration for all of us at Nulon Racing.

“In every gear shift and every corner, we embody his never-give-up attitude that racing demands, and we are looking forward to writing another chapter in our legacy at the Darwin track.”
