STUDENTS GET HANDS ON WITH PREMIAIR RACING

Horizons College students have enjoyed a money can’t buy experience this morning, turning the tools with PremiAir Racing.

The two students from the non-state Special Assistance School based in Caboolture (Queensland) are studying an Auto Certificate Course.

They were invited to PremiAir Racing this morning to collect a GEARWRENCH tool kit won by the college as part of the team’s GEARWRENCH tool kit competition.

As part of their visit, PremiAir Racing Team Principal, Matt Cook, invited the students Jake and John to use their school’s new GEARWRENCH tools and assist the team’s mechanics in undertaking some work on PremiAir Racing’s Supercars.

“We were very pleased that such a well-deserving school was one of our GEARWRENCH tool kit winners,” Cook said.

“Any opportunity we have to make a positive impact on the next generation and their interest in the automotive industry and motor racing is an opportunity we will always be eager to take up, so we were excited to be able to reach out to the college and invite some of their students to the workshop for some hands-on experience.

“There aren’t many kids out there who can say they have worked on a Supercar, so we hope Jack and John enjoyed their time here with us this morning as much as we enjoyed having them here.”

Horizons College Principal, Jane Robinson, said experiences like the one offered today by PremiAir Racing are very important for the school and its students.

“Horizons College of Learning and Enrichment is all about assisting young people for whom mainstream education is not meaningful. The school commenced in 2014 and now caters for students across years 8-12,” Robinson explained.

“To have been selected as a winner for PremiAir Racing’s GEARWRENCH tool kit giveaway was something we were already so excited about, as these high-quality tools are going to be very useful for our automotive students, but to also have this extra opportunity offered to our students was just fantastic.

“We feel very privileged to have had such an amazing experience extended to our students and sincerely thank PremiAir Racing and their partner GEARWRENCH for what they have done for us today.”

The PremiAir Racing GEARWRENCH tool kit competition will conclude on 4 December 2022, with one tool kit given away each Friday. Entries are still open – head to the PremiAir Racing Facebook page for full details. And if you want to check out GEARWRENCH tools in the flesh, head to your local Bunnings store.
